It's time to challenge the Acteens and church family to:
· Personal ministry goals
· Understanding of missions and ministry
· Continued missions participation
Your Acteens have worked hard and completed the task. What to do next? It is time to celebrate and worship. This time of recognition is an opportunity for the church family to celebrate with the Acteens and see the importance of missions awareness and involvement.
Preparation Guide
· Pray
· Meet with pastor, church staff, and WMU leadership to discuss the following: date, type of service, where service will be held, if there will be a reception or fellowship afterwards, who will be involved, etc.
· Prepare the Acteens
· Write a note to parents letting them know the plans
· Remember that this is worship and not focused on individual accomplishments
· Decide the type of service: MissionsQuest services from Quest Challenges; Acteens and leaders brainstorm on what elements are important; informal service in the church fellowship hall; use visual effects, missions fair, etc.
· Decide where to have the service: auditorium, church fellowship hall, church lawn or parking lot, on location where missions activities happened, etc.
· Determine who will be involved: church staff, parents, teachers, etc.
· Determine appropriate dress for the occasion
· Plan publicity far enough in advance: church newsletter, association newsletter, local paper, etc.
· Decide on decorations
