• Acquire a list of youth enrolled in Bible study and begin praying for each one. From that list write notes and/or call them at home to personally invite them to Acteens. Don’t be offended if they don’t come the first time. Be persistent (but not scary). Don’t make girls feel guilty for not coming, but let them know they are missed.
• Acquire a yearbook from the local junior high and or high school. Begin praying for the students.
• Ask the girls that are currently attending to make a list of their friends from school, teams they are on, etc., and have girls invite those people to a non-threatening party. Girls love sleepovers!
• Attend games, concerts, plays, etc., of the girls in your group. Get to know the parents of the other team members and begin building relationships with them.
• Host an “end of the season” party for a team that one of your Acteens is on.
• Keep in close contact with the youth minister. Be encouraging and supportive to him or her in the ministry he or she does. Coordinate your calendar with that of the youth minister to make sure activities do not conflict.
• Volunteer to teach Bible study or be a sponsor for a youth trip, retreat, etc. Once the students’ experience how much you care for them, they will respond to your invitations.
• Watch the local paper for students’ accomplishments. Cut out article and send with a note of congratulations.
• Send birthday cards.
