Introducing Acteens Leader, The Mag, and the The Mag Promotion Kit

You’re invited—
• To dive deeper into God’s Word to discover who you are as a youth missions leader.
• To feast alone on tasty bites of truth designed to feed your missions heart.
• To go where Acteen leaders haven’t gone before.
• To experience the weaving together of missions slice-of-life stories with foundational, biblical truths.
• To see through the eyes of missionaries their real-life spiritual struggles and successes offered in bite-sized, easy-to-digest stories. Then, serve them to your Acteens in one of the suggested creative learning experiences.
• To design Acteens to meet the needs of your special girls.
• To select from the list of options—learning experiences, activities, ministry projects—and lead your Acteens to more effectively learn and do missions.
You’re invited to make a change.

Ready to accept the invitation?
First, a few introductions. Open Acteens Leader and look at the sessions. Each of the four monthly sessions has two parts: Preparation and the Missions Experience.
• Preparation (Personal Bible and Mission Study). These pages lead you to an in-depth, personal look at the foundational mission Scriptures. These Bible studies are especially designed with you in mind. Schedule time each week to absorb these truths before you plan your meetings.
• Mission Experience (Learning Session with the Girls). This is where you’ll find the plans to present in your weekly meetings. You’ll be given:

– Before the Session planning tips and a list of supplies and resources.

– Take 5 lists five key ideas to drive home during your meeting time.

– During the Session leads you through the suggested meeting introduction, missions experience plans, and a conclusion. Each session includes ways to incorporate prayertime, including ways to use the missionary prayer calendar. The Missions Experience may be a simulation activity, an interactive project, or an on-site, hands-on experience. A variety of plans are suggested throughout the quarter that will challenge girls to learn through different learning styles. If these plans don’t satisfy your needs, review the ideas listed in The Optional Experience. The optional learning plans focus on the same missions concept, but approaches the concept in a different way.

– After the Session. Take Out lists ways to help you lead Acteens to connect with corresponding activities in their own take-home magazine, The Mag. The articles in The Mag, Try This at Home, lists ministry options and Take Out challenges girls to put into action concepts presented in your weekly missions experiences. Also, The Mag will offer interactive quizzes, quotes, fast facts, recipes, advice columns, ministry tips, internet activities, etc. Till Next Time offers you ways to stay in contact with your girls throughout the week to remind them of what they learned and how they can apply missions truths at home, at school, with their family, friends, and others they come in contact with as they go.

Discover the other options and resources included in Acteens Leader:
• Find ways to combine all the major monthly truths into one meeting plan in Once a Month meeting plans.
• Locate ideas to involve your entire group in the Group Ministry Project offered once a quarter.
• Use the Activity Pages, included in Acteens Leader, to enhance your missions experiences. Select a plan, make the photocopies, provide the requested supplies, and you’re ready to invite Acteens to your first meeting.

Finally, open The Mag Supplement Kit. This resource, full of enlistment ideas, banners, posters, and clip art, will help you promote and support your Acteens meetings and projects.

You’re invited to accept the challenge.
